Do I need to drive myself to have a motability car?
No you can nominate two different drivers to drive for you. However, if the driver is UNDER 21 they are only permitted to drive if they live at the same address as the Motability customer.
All nominated drivers OVER 21 must live within a 5 mile radius of the customer.
Any nominted driver UNDER 25 will be limited to a vehicle with a group 16 ABI insurance, and and limit of 115 BHP.
How many people can be insured on a motability vehicle?
Up to two nominated drivers as part of the scheme. You can add on a third person At extra cost if you wish
What do I need to go ahead with a motability car?
You will need a copy of your award letter from DLA showing you receive Higher rate mobility allowance for at least a year or more.
A copy of driving license for each proposed driver and an up to date utility bill.
What does taking my full allowance mean?
This means that you give up your higher rate mobility only. If you receive a CARE rate you will always keep this amount.
What does advance payment mean?
Advance payment can start at £nil and upwards, this is an amount which you pay every three years depending on the car you choose i.e.: of you upgrade to a top of the range model.
The advance payment limit is set by Motability at a maximum of £2000.
Can my motability specialist arrange any adaptions?
Yes we deal with motability and adaptation agencies on your behalf in most cases we can arrange for the adaptations to be done on site at our dealership all before you pick up your new vehicle.
How much the insurance excess?
There is an excess of £75.00 of any claim, loss or damage some vehicles such As convertibles may attract a higher excess
