Images of the All-New Insignia Sports Tourer have been released ahead of official debut.

“The first pictures of the Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer have been revealed before the car makes its official debut at the Geneva motor show,” Autocar reports.

Doug Revolta from Autocar recently reviewed the first look at the Insignia Grand Sport prior to it's debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017:

Based on new architecture, this new generation Sports Tourer is 200kg lighter than the model it replaces, and offers 100 litres more boot space. It gets an all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring, as well as a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

It’s available with LED matrix lighting, lane keep assist, head-up display, as well as heated seats in the front and rear, along with a heated windscreen. Vauxhall also says it’s thefirst model to get an active aluminium bonnet, which it says improves pedestrian protection.

The all-wheel drive system uses two electrically controlled multi-plate clutches to replace the rear axle differential. The FlexRide chassis enables drivers to select from standard, sport or tour modes which adjust the dampers, steering, throttle response and gear changes on automatic models. It’s available with a range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines.

As well as luggage capacity increasing, the car is slightly bigger than its predecessor and gets a longer wheelbase. Head room has increased by 31mm and shoulder room by 25mm, while you can opt for 40/20/40 folding rear seats, which can be collapsed at the push of a button. The tailgate can also be opened with a kicking motion underneath it, in combination with the keyless entry option.

A sunroof can be added, along with a heated steering wheel and an 18-way adjustable driver’s seat with massage and ventilation functions.
